Legends

The ball hits your bat on the sweet spot and you feel the solid contact throughout your body.  As the basketball leaves your fingertips, you know it's as good as in.  You reach up to grab a touchdown pass while keeping both feet in bounds.  Whether we lived these moments once or a hundred times in our youth, or whether we lived these moments through our hearoes as Aaron blasted out another homerun, Starr hit Dowler for another touchdown, or as West hit another miracle shot before time ran out, we dreamed that someday we could be the one who created the magic moments, that we could become a Legend.

The games we love have changed over the years.  Football, baseball, and basketball still dominate, but magic moments and dreams are also played out on soccer fields and ice rinks, as hockey and soccer have grown in popularity.  And maybe the biggest and best change is that girls are given more opportunity to hit the winning shot, sink a long putt, or kick the winning goal.  But no matter how the times have changed, we all still play today or relive our special moments of yesterday when we dreamed of becoming a Legend.
Legends American Grill is an idea that was born on the playgrounds of yesterday, when my friends and I were old enough to realize that we probably weren't going to be the next Mantle or Mays, Bird or Johnson, Unitas, Butkus, or Sayers.  Our idea was to have a restaurant where the menu would be large, the servings huge, the food great, the service legendary, and more TV's to watch all the games than anyplace in town.

Welcome to Legends American Grill, where you don't have to be a Legend to be treated like one.

Legends own and operate a chain of mid-priced full service restaurants that serve a large menu which caters to many different tastes.  Our menu consists of hand-cut steaks, fresh seafood, pasta, chicken sandwiches, 1/2 pound burgers, and an extensive kids menu for our young guests.  Our decor consists of large booths for families, dim lighting, sports memorabilia, and enough TV's to always have a great seat for any game.  Legends also distinguishes itself by offering the freshest produce, made from scratch dressings and sauces, fresh meat, and the highest level of service around.

Franchising Information

In 1995, Mark Rogers, the founder and owner of Legends American Grill, opened up his first restaurant in West Des Moines, IA.  Rogers was also the owner of a successful video chain in Des Moines called Five Star Video.  In 1996, Rogers sold his video chain to concentrate on expanding his restaurant business.  After five years of perfecting the menu and continuous improvement in operations, Legends was ready to expand.  In the year 2000, he opened up his second Legends in Pleasant Hill, IA.  In 2003, he opened up his third Legends in Johnston, IA and also started planning a joint venture with his brother to open up another restaurant concept.  Fire Creek Grill opened in 2004 to rave reviews with beautiful fireplaces and an outstanding menu with fresh seafood, steaks, and pastas.  Rogers also sold his first franchise in 2004 to open a Legends in Ames, IA.  Now Legends American Grill has a firm market share and is looking for additional expansion with only the sky as the limit.
